5 out of 5 stars

Piper is your typical teenager who rebels for her own reasons.  But, she has good reasons, right?  Having her mother taken from her at a young age and a father who distances himself for reasons unknown, what else is she to do?  Then, to top it all off, Piper and her brother are sent to live with her grandmother, whom she has never even met!  What is up with that!?  Piper decides she is just going to be her normal rebellious self for the summer and hopefully get sent home.  That is, until she starts to learn the secrets of the island she is sent to.  Raven Hallow isn't just an island for summer tourists.  There are so many more secrets there, and Piper is determined to discover what they are.

White Raven is a Teen and Young Adult book written by J.L. Weil that I would suggest for older readers.  The language and certain situations in the book isn't for younger readers.  (Her books are suggested for 16+ readers for these exact reasons.)  With all of that being said up front, this was a fabulous book!  I couldn't put it down and wanted to know what happened next!  There was a lot going on in the book, and a lot to keep up with, but that is what kept it fast paced and kept me involved!  I wanted to know what was coming.  The characters are truly believable.  I still want the answers to questions that Piper has, but I also know that is to come.  These are teenagers, so they don't always come right out with answers - and that can be frustrating.  So there is that...  But overall, the book is great and I can't wait to read what is to come!  I think I have just found a new favorite author!
